The mission of the Sawyer County Development Corporation (SCDC) is to encourage and promote economic development that will integrate, maintain, and enhance the integrity of Sawyer County’s natural resources.
 We accomplish our mission by:
- Promoting sound economic development and land use planning.
- Developing programs to support existing business and industry.
- Advocating coordination between government entities.
- Informing businesses and citizens about key issues that may impact the community.
- Preserving the integrity of our natural resources.
- Assist in the development of affordable housing.
History
The SCDC was created in the fall of 1994 as a collaborative effort between the Hayward Area Chamber of Commerce, Sawyer County Extension Office, and local citizens.
Our Purpose
The SCDC provides expertise to potential entrepreneurs and existing business entities to create development that is environmentally sound, promotes responsible economic development and land use planning, informs area citizens on key issues that may impact the community, while increasing membership by developing programs to support existing business and industry. |
